Of course. The relationship we develop is the most important aspect of my therapy, so it is important clients always feel like everything they say during our sessions won’t ever be shared with anyone. This is your space to speak as freely as you like, without fear of being judged.
This varies from person to person. I offer both long-term and short-term counselling, but always recommend a minimum of six sessions, as anything less doesn’t give us adequate time to develop a close therapeutic relationship. We will regularly review progress to check whether anything needs to change.
Therapy is suitable for anyone experiencing a complex issue that they are struggling to cope with on their own, whether it’s depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, body image issues, or relationship problems. Even if you can talk about these issues with friends or family, therapy provides an important professional neutral perspective. You might not feel like anything in particular is wrong but nonetheless feel out of sorts, like something isn’t quite right. In cases like these, therapy an opportunity to talk through your feelings and get to the bottom of them.
I always recommend that clients see me once a week, as this provides a sense of continuity that is fundamental to a good therapeutic relationship. In some cases, I can offer two sessions a week for those requiring crisis support.
You are always free to give me a call before organising therapy. This is a no-obligation, no-cost 15-minute chat over the phone during which you can ask me any questions you like and get a feel for how I work as a counsellor, ahead of organising weekly sessions at a time that suits you. There is no pressure to continue with further meetings if it doesn’t feel right for you.
Payment for sessions can be made through bank transfer, cheque, or cash. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, I will need at least 48 hours’ notice, otherwise you will be required to pay for the session in full.
My therapy in Finsbury Park or online is available to adults experiencing all kinds of issues, from depression to body dysmorphia to relationship problems. If you are thinking about reaching out for counselling, please do get in touch and I’ll be happy to ask any questions.
